Initialย Thoughts:

To date, the Caldwell Blind Man’s Bluff is my third cigar from Caldwell, and this is one of their most famous blends.

And this cigar is HUGE! Coming in at a sixty ring gauge, this six-inch-long cigar is on the bigger side (if you don’t count those gimmicky cigars that look like baseball bats). Wrapped in an oily Habano wrapper, this cigar looks delicious!

Final Thoughts:

Some cigars, well, someย blends of cigars, are best suited for a particular vitola (size). The wrapper to binder to filler ratio is optimized at a certain length and ring gauge.

Unfortunately, I don’t think the 6 x 60 “vitola” of this “double toro” Caldwell Blind Man’s Bluff Habano is the optimal size for the blend. I think this cigar would be tastier, have richer flavors, and would, perhaps, have a more even burn in a different size.

The flavors on this cigar started off pretty good but faded into mediocrity about halfway through the cigar, and hints of that awful ammonia crept in at the end. Because I’d probably smoke this one again but would prefer the same blend in a different size, the Caldwell Blind Man’s Bluff Habano earns a CigarScore of 3.
