Cigar Review: Stolen Throne 3 Kingdoms Toro

Initial Thoughts:

Today we continue our series of blind cigar reviews, where our goal is to provide you with a totally objective, completely neutral review of a cigar. Ellory went into this review completely blind; that means without knowing what it is, who made it, how much it costs, or what's in it. To see the entire series of blind cigar reviews, click here.

Today we're reviewing a cigar from a brand I don't smoke all that often. Though I'm no stranger to Stolen Throne's cigars, I've never had the Stolen Throne 3 Kingdoms Toro, hence the review =)

The Stolen Throne 3 Kingdoms Toro has a dry-ish wrapper and has a slight box press to it. It looks good, though I started this cigar with about an inch-long crack at the bottom. Probably my fault, but it's still there.

With a quick, clean cut from my guillotine, the cold draw had great resistance and indicator of a good smoke ahead. The cold draw flavors were of grapes (weird), and cedar.

After a few puffs, the flavors became syrupy and rich. Great first impressions on this Stolen Throne 3 Kingdoms Toro, let's hope things keep going well…

Final Thoughts

My main complaint about the Stolen Throne 3 Kingdoms Toro is that it didn't smoke for very long. A good toro should smoke for about an hour and a half, but I reached the end of this one after about 65 minutes. Perhaps the shorter smoke time is due to the box-pressed nature of this cigar which generally has about 10% less tobacco.

Regarding the flavors of the 3 Kingdoms, in the first third, they were great. In the middle third, they were pretty good. In the final third, they were still good, but not nearly as delicious as they were in the first two-thirds of the cigar.

Overall, the flavors were smooth, creamy, and rich, and this cigar was a good experience. The Stolen Throne 3 Kingdoms Toro earns a CigarScore 5.
